Anand-Topalov - Game 9 - Draw
Anand and Topalov draw their 9th game last night. Anand who lost in game 8 choose a typical psychological strategy when he played 1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 which permitted black to play the Nimzo. In the previous game, Anand avoid the Nimzo by choosing the Catalan setup with g3 and Bg2. It start to look exciting when the game enter an imbalance position with Anand giving his queen for Topalov two rooks. However after a series of piece and pawn exchanges, Anand missed several winning chance and had to split the point. The game score is now 4.5-4.5.
