Abdullah Che Hassan emerged as the champion of the 2008 Malay Open that concluded today. In the final round he managed to forced a draw in a complicated position against second placing Kamaluddin Yusof. Abdullah collect 6 1/2 points from 7 rounds, whereas Kamaluddin Yusof score 6 points to be the runner up. New comer - Suhaimi b. Mustafa Albakri shock the participants when he finished in third placing after beating National player and ex World Police Champion- Ismail Ahamd in the penultimate round.
