The first round will kick off today. Looking at the pairing, it looks like our representative in the men section will have a tough time. In the men section, there are 15 title players with 5 GMs ( leads by GM Bu Xianqi - 2670!), 4 IMs and 6 FMs . While in the women section, there are14 title players with 6 WGMs, 3 WIMs and 4 WFMs and 1 WCM.
In round 1, Fadzil is paired against GM Pawel Czarnote from Poland while Syazwan will meet Nikita Matinia from Russia.
In the women section, Syazwani could'nt asked for tougher opponent when she is paired against the top seed - WGM Zhongyi Tan from China.
