MAKSWIP 2012 : DBKL retain title but not without difficulty...

The script is almost the same.  Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) powered by their top horses - NM Kamal Ariffin and Mohd Zambri Syariff retain the 2012 Majlis Kebajikan dan Sukan Anggota-Anggota Kerajaan Wilayah (MAKSWIP) Team Chess Championship held on 16th-17th June 2012 at Bangunan RISDA , Jalan Ampang Kuala Lumpur.

The main different to this year edition is the participant of new  teams like - Jabatan Pelajaran Wilayah Persekutuan (JPWP), Universiti Malaya (UM) and Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN). This has change the scenario of the tournaments which is usually dominate by DBKL and KASTAM. This year, KASTAM was squeeze into third place by " the teachers" .

Last year 3rd place and dark horse team JPA  is the most affected team. They slip to 10th place after suffering two heavy blow 0-4 to DBKL and JPWP.

18 teams took part in this 6 rounds Swiss with 1 hours time control for each player. Every team consist of 6 player ( 4 + 2 reserve). International Arbiter (IA) Abdul Latif  is the arbiter of the tournament.
