2011 Putrajaya Close Report

The 2011 Putrajaya Comunity Chess Tournament concluded yesterday at the Dewan Serbaguna Kompleks Kejiranan Presint 11, Putrajaya . The 6 round swiss system tournament with 20 minutes time control for each player attract a total of 109 players. There is three category ( Above 15, Below 15 and Below 12).

Main Event (Above 15 ) ( total - 42 players)

1. Dr. Zaidan Zulkipli  - 5.5 points - Champion

Yours truly spoiled a winning position ( endgame : Knight+pawns vs pawns) in the last round against Bukhairi (left). Somehow i permit Bukhairi to exchange all the pawns and the game is theoretically drawn after i was left with a king and knight against Bukhairi's lone king.   If i win, i will finish second - Cuba Lagi Tahun Depan?

Nope...Actually IA Latif is conducting a briefing to the players before the last round.

 On behalf of the players, i would like to show my gratitude to Perbadanan Putrajaya for organizing a wonderful tournament. We hope that this will continue to be an annual event and hopefully there will be more chess events/activities  in Putrajaya.
