A day after the hectic 2010 FIDE Presidential Election, Karpov and Kirsan made a joint press conference to announce their plans on further mutual cooperation. For about 9 months before the election, both Karpov's and Kirsan's team fight vigioursly against each other. You can read some of the statement against each other here and here
Two interesting point from the joint press conference:-
* "Kirsan offered Karpov FIDE Vice President post which Karpov replied " I am not in a time-trouble and I am not obliged to give the final answer "....
* "Kirsan said that "we (Kirsan & Karpov) are adults and trust each other"....
