Thailand Open 2009 - Mashafizul and Ismail Ahmad games !

Thanks to Ismail Ahmad (photo right) and IM Mashafizul for providing their games from the just conclude Thailand Open 2009. I will publish the games separately . Some of the games is annotated by Mashafizul himself ! I hope all local chess players especially top players won't mind to share their games with local chess fans as what international and professional players did. Players like Anand, Ivanchuk, Carslen analyzed their games in public and with the internet technology, their game is even broadcast and analysed live but that didn't made them vulnarable... in fact they still maintain on top !

Ismail Ahmad (2082) - Louis Le Bris (1876) [A48]
Thailand Open Chess Championship 2009 (Round 4), 02.04.2009

1.Nf3 d6 2.d4 Nf6 3.Bf4 c6 4.e3 g6 5.h3 Bg7 6.Be2 0–0 7.Nc3 Nh5 8.Bh2 f5 9.0–0 Qb6 10.Qc1 Nd7 11.Bc4+ d5 12.Bb3 e6 13.Na4 Qd8 14.c4 Nhf6 15.Nc3 Ne4 16.cxd5 exd5 17.Nd2 Ndf6 18.Be5 Nxd2 19.Qxd2 Ne4 20.Nxe4 fxe4 21.Bg3 g5 22.Qb4 Rf7 23.Bd1 Bf8 24.Qe1 Bd6 25.f3 Bf5 26.fxe4 Bxe4 27.Rxf7 Kxf7 28.Qf2+ Kg6 29.Bg4 h5?

Black should have no problem after 29...Bxg3 30.Qxg3 Qe7. Now Ismail made a strong move 30.Rf1 ! Bxg3??

30...hxg4? will lost to 31.Qf7+ Kh6 32.Rf6+ Qxf6 33.Qxf6+ Bg6 34.Bxd6. Lesser evil is 30...Qf8 31.Bxh5+ Kh6 (31...Kxh5 32.Qe2+) 32.Qe2 with clear advantage for white. 31.Qf7+ According to Fritz, it's now checkmate in 8 moves (maximum) ! 31...Kh6 32.Qxh5+ Kg7 33.Rf7+ Kg8 34.Be6 Bh2+ 35.Kh1 Qd6 1-0 Black resign because he will be checkmate after 36.Qxg5+ Bg6 37.Qxg6+ Kh8 38.Qg7#
