No Boys Allowed ?!

I read one interesting article at Susan Polgar chess blog. It's about a chess tournament at Saint Lake City, US which is exclusively for girls ONLY ! Boys is not allowed to play in this tournament.

I don't think this is a good idea. For me girls or women can be at par with boys or men in term of chess abilities . Just look at the acheivement of Judith Polgar and recent prodigy - Hou Yifan . Playing among the same gender will not improve girls/women results .

Maybe girls and boys should continue compete in the same tourney and special prizes for girls/ women should be add in every tournaments !?
