Round 8 : Malaysia lost to IPCA - 1.5-2.5

Hi guys, sorry for not updating live of the Malaysian round 8 game last night. I Just can't resist to play blitz with Mohd Saprin Sabri, Kamaluddin Yusof, and Shamsul Bahrin. It's another Bangi Night Fever edition organised by Saprin.
Mohd Saprin Sabri (photo above) - the man who was "responsible" for no Olympiad Live Coverage in this blog last night :) . Watch on his left - my Acer Asphire One laptop which i brought to "actually" blog the round 8 game Live.

At first i plan to blog live for the round 8 - Malaysia vs IPCA, Dresden Olympiad at the McDonald Bandar Baru, Bangi 24 hours outlet. However the "problem" is i'm not the only chess player there , but at the same time/place there's a Bangi Night Fever event held by the former National player- Mohd Saprin Sabri (aka catur itu bulat) . Another two players that complete the list of player is Kamaluddin Yusof and Shamsul Bahrin ( aka Sam). At first i just told them that i just want to make a covarage and blogging the round 8 game but after "shiveringly" watch a few of their 3 minutes+5 seconds increment games... i couldn't hold the temptation and join them blitzing untill 3am ! I'll post the Bangi Night Fever article with game and photo later. Now back to the Olympiad.

As many should already know, the Malaysian team was narrowly beaten by the International Pysically Disabled Chess Association (IPCA) . As i mentioned before , chess is a mind but not a physical games so it's not entirely surprising that our team suffer a lost last night. Furthermore, IPCA is probably stronger team the us because they have 4 IM's compare to Malaysia who only have 2 IM's and 2 FM's.

After a series of loses , Jimmy was the only winner last night whereas Mashafizul draw his game. Lim Yee Weng surprisingly lost to a player rated lower then him. Probably Yee Weng who has been playing none stop so far need to be rested to "recharge his battery". Edward Lee who is playing his first Olympiad also lost last night but i believe he will gain valuable experience here and should perform better in the future.

After round 8, Malaysia is in the 110th place...37 place below our initial seeding ( 73th ). Malaysia will faced Liechtenstein for the round 9 tonight. Our team need to build back their confident for the remaining 3 rounds.
