DATMO 2008 Brilliancies & Blunders ! Part 2 (updated)

Anthony Liong reply that actually 31.Qxg6 It's not a mistake, she got no move, Black is better. Qxg6, Then black an play Qxc4, then white Qxf6, white same pawn, drawish.

But i think 31.Qxg6 is not her only move, he can play other move like 31.Be6 ...maintaining the pressure

Below are the original post .

I gone through games of the DATMO 2008 and found interesting brilliance's and blunders happen in some of the games.

WIM Zhang Xiaowen (2382) vs Anthony Liong Ing Kiat (2159)
DATMO 2008, Round 6, 20.8.2008

31.Qxg6?! At first, this move looks like a beautiful sacrifice but it's actually a mistake. Unfortunately black fall into the trap with 31...hxg6?? Actually 31...Qxc4! Would gave black the advantage after 32.Qf5 Qxc5 33.Qxg4 and black will be a pawn up! 32.Rh1+ Now black will be mate in two. 32...Kg7 33.Bh6+ Kh7 33...Kh8 34.Bf8# 34.Bf8# 1–0

How can miss a mate in three? Especially your opponent gave up the queen!!!
