Refering to http://ncfphilippines.org/, IM MasHafizul has collected 1 point so far after 2 round. In round 1 he beat host player Christy Lamiel Bernales (1934) but in the 2nd round he lost to another Pinoy but this time a “heavyweight” opponent GM Rogelio Antonio.
In the 3rd round which will be held tonight, Mas will meet veteran Indonesian- IM Sebastian Simanjuntak (2251). As some local chess fan might noticed, Simanjuntak is a regular face in Malaysia international chess tournament. He has played in DATMO Open and Merdeka Team competition in Malaysia quite a few times.
