Ivan Cheparinov: The Man To Watch!


Yes, Ivan Cheparinov(2670) world no.42 (photo right) is the man to watch so far in World Cup Khanty Mansiysk, 2007 . He has beat 3 strong players so far-Vladislav Tkaciev(2661) world no. 48 from France (former Kazakhstan), and the last victim was ShakhriyarMamedyarov (2752) the World No. 7 and GM wang Yue Fide (2703) world no.22.


Ivan Cheparinov 21, is a Bulgarian chess player and best-known as the second of former FIDE World Champion Veselin Topalov. According to Topalov's website, Cheparinov was responsible for many of the opening novelties Topalov played during his 2006 World Championship match against Vladimir Kramnik.
Topalov once tell that Cheparinov has helped him many times before as a second. He sets him tasks and he work through night. "In the morning he tells me “no problems” or “problems”. And most of the time when I am playing he is sleeping. So in fact we work non stop"-Topalov.

Meanwhile, Topalov and Cheparinov share the same manager-Silvio Danailov. Danailov said "Ivan shows a lot of desire in every game. When he won the Essent open group in Hoogeveen, Silvio Danailov said, "Ivan? He is the next Topalov."
