4th Singapore Masters International Open Tournament 2007

Two of Malaysia top players IM Mas Hafizulhelmi and FM Lim Yee Weng participate at the ongoing 4th Singapore Masters International Open Tournament 2007. According to chessresult.com, the chief arbiter of this tournaments is (Mrs or Miss?) WIM Anghela Khegai assist by NM Peter Long. Emm…it’s seldom to find a women act as a chief arbiter in chess tournaments but I believe Anghela Khegai is capable of doing it because he is an experience chess player.

IM Mas (left) start badly by losing both of his game in round 1 and 2 to FM Terry Chuah (2096) and Jia Haoxiang (2193) from China ( eating too many curry in India!?) . He was paired against SingaporeanTeo Wei Xing (2191) in round 3.

Lim Yee Weng (left) perform a little bit better than Mas . He lost in the first round against 2nd seeded GM Zurab Azmaiparashvili or "the dunderhead"(right) as Nigel Short like to call this guy.Then he beat Singaporean Teo Wei Xing (2191) in the 2nd round. In round 3 he will meet a herculan task facing top seed GM Zhang Zhong (2634) .
