FM Yeoh Li Tian - GM Ngoc Truong Son

Zone 3.3 Championship 2017 Open and Women 2017 is being held in Tagaytay City, Philippines from 25th Feb  till 3rd March 2017.  Zone 3.3 consist of  17 countries ( Brunei, Cambodia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam). However only five countries participate in the Open Section and four in Women Section.


The top two in the Open Zonal shall qualify for the World Cup 2017 and the winner of the Women’s Zonal shall qualify for the Women’s World Championship.

Malaysia sole representative is FM Yeoh Li Tian. So far after 3 rounds, he lead the tournament with 2.5 out of 3. Below is his game against the first seed - GM Ngoc Truong Son (2629) from Vietnam.
