Round 2 Preview
The Malaysian men team will meet Monaco in the second round of the 2012 Olympiad which will start at 8.00PM (Malaysian time).
The line-up is as below:-
Yeoh Li Tian who suffered a lost in the first round will be rested and team captain – IM Jimmy Liew will play. Looking at the board pairing, I think that we have a good chance to score full points on board 2 and 3. On Board 1 and 4, Mok and Lim Zhuo Ren both play against much higher rated player but if they can maintain their form as against the mighty Dutch last night, nothing is impossible.
If you can recall, the veteran GM – Igor Efimov once beat IM Mashafizul in Instanbul, 12 years back at Olympiad 2000! Back then Efimov played for Italy. This would be a good time for Mok to revenge Mas lost :)
