I've just came back from a job assignment in Kota Kinabalu. If you are in KK, a visit to 'Pasar Filipin' (Filipino Market) is a must and i visited the market on my last day there before depart to KL.
Filipino Market or its official name - Kota Kinabalu Handicraft Center, is one of the must see place in Kota Kinabalu city. It is situated along Tun Fuad Stephen Street across Le Meridien Hotel. There are many handicrafts that are sold here. Besides local souvenirs and handicrafts such as keychains, T-shirts and beautiful carved woods, there are also handicrafts from other Asian countries. Sarong batiks, rattan mattresses, Islamic caligraphies, brooches and most of all, pearls can be found at this place.
Above is a photo i shot with my mobile phone just outside the market. See more photos about Filipino Market here
