Singapore International Chess Festival 2010 - Malaysian Players Update after Round 4

Below is the  update for Malaysian players after round 4 of  The 2010 Singapore International Chess Festival.

ASEAN Open


NM Edward Lee is having a hard time  against ASEAN top players. He has only managed to collect a point so far.

ASEAN Women


WFM Alia Anin Azwa Bakri also having a tough tournament so far with 1.5 points from 4 rounds. She did however create an up set in round 1 by beating WIM Hoang Thi Nhu Y.




Singapore Open


Our newly crowned National junior Master - Lim Zhuo Ren has a good start so far. He collect full points in the first two rounds and later produced a stunning result in round 3 by drawing against the second seed- GM Laxman RR (2479) from India. Unfortunately in round 4, he lost against host player - Jerome Ang. Lim Zhuo Ren now have 2.5 points from 4 rounds.

Singapore International Youth Championships 2010 

Under-17 Open


Muhd Nabil Azman Hisham is our top performer in this category with 3.5 points.

Under-14 Open


 Muhd Irfan Haqqim is our leading players in this category with 3 points.


Under-14 Girls


WCM Nur Nabila Azman Hisham is our top performer with 3 points.


Under-11 Open


Our boys is doing great in this category. Four of our players is in the top ten. This category  have a total of 88 players. Our highest player on the ranking list is Tang Wei Kit- on 2nd place with full points ( 4 out of 4)

Under-11 Girls

Siblings - Puteri Munajjah Az-Zahra and Puteri Rifqah Fahada together with Teh De Zen, WFM Nur Najihah Azman Hisham and Siti Khadijah Sabirin  is our top performers in this category - all with 3 points.


Under-8 Girls


Zainoor Ikmal Mohd Noor is leading  the charge for our players in this category with 2.5 points after round 4.


Under-8 Open


Wong Yinn Long our sole representative in this age group category is doing fine so far. Being the top seed, he has collected 3.5 points from 4 rounds and will meet Singaporean - Heng Zheng Khai in round 5 tommorow.
