Round 7: Men lost women win

Open Section

Our men team succumbed to International Committee of Silence Chess (ICSC) in round 7. They were beaten 1-3 by the physical (deaf) handicap team. Some of you may think that this is unacceptable but take note that the ICSC team is actually stronger then us in term of average rating. This is because they have GM Gruenfeld Yeduda and IM Duilio Collutiis (2447) playing on board 1 and 2 respectively.

Tan Khai Boon is our sole survivor in this round. Khai Boon who had a slow start in this Olympiad, registerd his second straight win and this time against a much higher rated player - Vladimir Klasan (2393). Way to go Khai Boon.

Women Section

As expected, our women team made a clean sweep (4-0) against Pakistan.
