7th March 2010 - A `new comer` - Rizal Ahmad Kamal win the main category (above 16) 2010 Putrajaya Community Chess Tournament held at the Pusat Maritim, Precint 6, Putrajaya. The 6 round swiss system tournament with time control 20 minutes per-player is organized by Perbadanan Putrajaya in conjunction with the 2010 Pesta Sukan Rakyat , Putrajaya . The tournament was divided into three category - under 12, under 16 and above 16 and only open to players who live or work in Putrajaya.Rizal Ahmad Kamal (photo right) who work with Kastam Diraja Malaysia is eligble to play this year after being transfer to Kastam headquarters, Putrajaya last year . He finished the tournament with a perfect score- 6 points and received RM 500 as the champion.
Yours truly who is the defending champion finished in 3rd place with 5 points after losing to Hariz Syami Zakria in round 4. Hariz finish in 2nd place.
