26th December 2009 - I received sms around 6 pm today from former World Police and National player - Ismail Ahmad (photo right) who is now playing at the Malaysian Interstate Championship in Sibu, Sarawak. The sms contain his brilliant 4th round victory against Abdullah Che Hassan.

13.
Bxh3 Qxh3 14. d4 exd4 15. Bxd4 b6 16. Bxc5 bxc5 17. Rc1 Qf5 18. Nc3 Ng6

19. e4 Qh3 20. f4
f5 21. Qf3 Rae8 22. Rce1 Re7 23. exf5
Probably better is to double on e-file with 23. Rf2 followed by Rfe2 later
23... Nh4!
Black set a nice trap 24. Qf2 of course 24. gxh4 ?
will lost material after 24...Qxf3 25. Rxf3 Rxe1+
24... Rxe1 25. Rxe1 Nxf5 26. Qg2
Qh5 27. Nb5 g5!? Sargeant Ismail is really in serious mood/mode !
Probably safer is 27... Re8 28. fxg5 Ne3!
29. Qe4?? Unfortunately this is the only mistake by Abdullah but it turns as a desicive one!
The only move to save the game is 29. Qd2 Ng4
30. Qe2 And the game is unclear. 29... Qe2 0-1
a) 30. Qe6+ Kh8
31. Rxe2 Rf1# checkmate.
b) 30.Qxe3 Rf1+ 31.Rxf1 Qxe3+ and black's queen is two strong for white's rook and knight.
