Is it a coincidence or Vietnam is going to overtake chess world!?. ..yeah i exaggerating a little bit but two young Vietnamese GM - Le Quang Liem ( 18 years old and FIDE 2602) and GM Ngoc Truong Son ( 19 years old and FIDE 2589) has just won two strong Swiss tournament recently. Le won the 4th Kalkota Open ahead of many top dogs such as Super GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (FIDE 2721), GM Nigel Short (FIDE 2706) and many 2600+ GMs and title players. Meanwhile GM Ngoc won the recently conclude KL Open 2009.Bare in mind Vietnam is the Asian 2nd highest performance country in last year Olympiad in Dresden- behind China but ahead of India !
