16th May 2009 - NMCC Thematic Tournament will be organised today - ( Saturday, 16th May 2009). The opening is Bird's (From's Gambit) . This will be the 10th edition of this thematic tourney.A thematic chess tournament is a tournament with every game is played with a certain opening variant. And for this Saturday , the Bird's (from's Gambit) (diagram below) has been selected as the starting position. ( with white to play) .You will find the board set up for this variant at the start of the game. So all white player will start the game on the 4th move ! And black player will start after white's 4th move.
