Cheah Cheok Fung - Mohd Saprin Sabri [A40]
DATCC 2009 (Round 1), 22.04.2009
Analysed by Hairulov and Fritz 11
1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 d5 4.e3 e6 5.Nbd2 Nbd7 6.Bd3 Bd6 7.b3 e5 8.dxe5 theory suggest 8.cxd5 8...Nxe5 9.Be2 Not 9.Nxe5?! because white can't castling after 9...Bxe5 10.Rb1 dxc4 11.Nxc4 (11.Bxc4 Bf5 The castle on b1 will lose) 11...Bc3+ 9...Nxf3+ 10.Nxf3 Ne4 11.0–0 11.cxd5 Qa5+ 12.Bd2 Qxd5 11...Qf6 12.Rb1 Qh6 12...Nc3 Is quite messy after 13.Bb2 Nxd1 (13...d4 14.Qe1!? Nxb1 15.Qxb1 0–0 16.Nxd4) 14.Bxf6 Nxe3 15.Bxg7 black seem to lose his advantage
Cheah on his way to play 13.Bb2
13.Bb2 Bg4
Saprin has the initiative and can afford to delay castling because he is planning a deadly attack towards white's king! However 13...Be6 is probably wiser . 14.Ne5 14.g3!? Look interesting because black attack on h2 is stop and black have to think about his shaken pawn on d5. 14...Bxe2 15.Qxe2 0–0 16.Ng4 16.cxd5 Rfe8 17.Nf3 Qh5 18.h3 (18.dxc6 A brilliant tactical combination will occur after 18...Bxh2+ 19.Kh1 Bg3+ 20.Kg1 Bxf2+ 21.Rxf2 Ng3!) 18...Qxd5 16...Qh5 17.f3? f5! 18.fxe4?? The blunder that cost the game. Black chance to stay longer in the game is with 18.Ne5 Rae8 19.g4!? Hoping that black will be a little bit confuse :)
18...Bxh2+! Probably white forget that his knight can't take the h2 bishop because his queen on e2 is hanging. 19.Kf2 Nobody want to proceed with 19.Nxh2 Qxe2 especially after working for 8 hours in the office ! 19...Qh4+ 0-1 White resign because it's mate after 20.g3 Qxg3++#
