IM Julio Catalino Sadorra (right) won the 2009 Frank Goon Cup, Johor held at the City Square , Johor Baru yesterday. According to Kamaludin Yusof, second place goes to FM Mok Tze Meng, followed by Leong Mun Wan and 4th and 5th place goes to Michael Palma and Ian Udani respectively.The top 5 prizes for the open 7 rounds swiss system category are RM1,000, RM600 ,RM400, RM 300 and RM 200.
There's quite a number of strong players competing in this tourney. Among the big name is Kamaluddin Yusof , Fariz Sharifudin , NM Kamal Ariffin, Faizal Andin, NM Kamal Abdullah, Osric Mooi Soh Wee Zee and Mohd Khair Wahiddudin.
