Still remember IM Wong Zi Jing ?

For local chess fan, do you still remember this name - IM Wong Zi Jing? ....probably yes...but it seems that for about 3-4 years... there's no news at all about Malaysian 3rd IM. His name have even be listed as inactive in the FIDE list but he is no.1 at that list!

Actually Zi Jing (photo right) is now studying in KAIST (formerly known as Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) , a research university located in Daedeok Science Town, Daejeon, South Korea. KAIST was established in 1971 as the nation’s first graduate school specializing in science and engineering education and research. It is one of the top science and technology universities in South Korea.

However, South Korea is not a great country to develop your chess. The country was listed 129 compare to Malaysia 73 in the July list .

Last month i sent a message to Zi Jing tru facebook and he did reply and tell about his development. He said that his quite busy now with his study and research at Peking University in Beijing, China! Photo above show his photo at the Great Wall of China. It seems that he is no more active in chess but he said that he still follow Malaysian chess tru my blog!

The recent message i received from him that he will further his study in the famous University of Cambridge, UK....(a good country /continent to start back playing chess !?) and i wish him all the best.
