I read an interesting!? ( or dubious ?!) article in FIDE website regarding FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov cooperation agreement with the President of the Russian Badminton Federation Sergei Shakhrai (photo above) on their attempt to popularize badminton among FIDE members as the most optimal for physical activity of chess players, and also popularization of chess among badminton players. In my opinion, this is unusual idea to relate chess with badminton because chess usually related to music, math or art. But after a while... I recall about chessboxing- the new hybrid sport that has been popularized in Europe recently... so what the &*@#!!!source: FIDE
