IM Mashafizul draw his round 2 game against Myanmar- (IM) Nay Oo Kyaw Tun. He will meet Pinoy top player- GM Rogelio Antonio Jr. (photo right). This must be hard for Mas because if i'm not mistaken, he has lost to Regelio in most of their meetings and the recent one at The 2nd Philipines Open that has just concluded last week.
Thanks to the official site , we now can watch Mashafizul who are playing against International Master (IM) Nay Oo Kyaw Tun, in the 2nd round of The 3rd Philippine Open International Chess Tournament held at the La Legenda Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport, Olongapo City, Philipines today. Below are the game:-
IM Nay Oo Kyaw Tun - IM Mashafizul Helmi [B27]
The 3rd Philippine Open International Chess Tournament (2), 18.05.2008
1.e4 c5 2.c3 g6 3.Nf3 Bg7 4.d4 cxd4 5.cxd4 d5 6.e5 Nc6 7.Na3 Fritz theory book gave 4 line. ( 7.h3; 7.Be2; 7.Nc3; 7.Bb5) 7.Na3 is a common move in French Advance set up. This move is quite tricky, White is planning to play Nc2 to booster the d4 but the trick is black can't play 7...e6 because the knight will go to b5 and later d6!. Black normal continuation should be 7...Nh6 (heading for f5) or 7...Bg4. 7...f6!?
