IM Goh Wei Ming win the Singapore 60th National Chess Championships 2008


IM Goh Wei Ming (2396) win the Singapore 60th National Chess Championships 2008 with one rounds to spare after gaining 7 points from 8 rounds. His nearest rival FM Graham Chua, GM Dr. Wong Meng Kong (2445) and , IM Jason Goh Koon Jong (2384)- all with 5.5 points will have no chance to overtake Goh (photo right) whatever results in the final rounds.

Below are his victory in the 1st round against FM Terry Chuah (2096).

18.Bxh7+!? actually white doesnt have to sac his piece - according to Mr.Fritz :) , but i think any Grandmaster will have difficult task to defend this position as black 18...Kxh7 [18...Nxh7?? 19.Qxf7+ Kh8 20.Ng6#; ] 19.Nxf7 Black have an extra piece but white have a strong attack and proceed to win after 36 moves 1–0
